WOMEN JOURNALISTS AND MEDIA STUDENTS IN QUETTA VISITS ASSEMBLY ON BEHALF OF WOMEN MEDIA CENTER, PAKISTAN.
On behalf of Women Media Center (WMC) Pakistan, 24 female media students were given the opportunity to attend the Assembly session in Quetta on November 10, 2015. Abdul Malik Baloch, the Chief Minister (CM) of Balochistan, headed the session and spoke about various important issues. He commenced his speech by thanking Women Media Center (WMC) Pakistan for its efforts in organizing a workshop on electronic media training in Quetta and giving participants an opportunity to attend the assembly session. He was proud of the fact that so many young and brave female media students were coming forward to enter journalism which is one of the most dangerous professions in Pakistan. He also appreciated WMC for coming to Balochistan to provide training to the students of Balochistan University and BUITEMS in order to work towards their better future. Moreover, Jan Mohammed Buledi, Media Advisor of Balochistan, highlighted the role of Women Media Center (WMC) in fulfilling the request of the participants to attend the Assembly session. The session was taken over by Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai, a Pashtun nationalist and political leader of Quetta. He spoke about the target killings that occurred just two days prior to the assembly session. Mr Achak zai requested the Chief Minister (CM) to visit the injured people in the hospitals and ask them about their struggles and emphasized on the magnitude of the problem of target killings in Balochistan. “People cannot walk on the streets or sit in hotels at night.
